Still Clicking Away

Things have been busy here so I have been rather quiet on the blogging front, we have been lucky with fantastic weather so we have been here, there and everywhere, but the needles have been clicking.

We took a trip to Glastonbury a few weeks ago, I sat at the bottom of the Tor knitting while my tribe climbed up it with some friends we bumped into. With the odd knit here and there and some work on my WIP’s (work in progress) I have kept clicking.

New Forest Fairy Festival 2016

we had another lovely weekend at The New Forest Fairy Festival, lots of fun learning new skills with Gypsy Pyskeys, meeting great fairy’s and elfs, basking in the sun, and so much more, just the right spot to be in on such a lovely weekend

Most of our outfits were made by Peregrine’s Nest, …little fae fairy dress, skirt, trousers and yes that tail…

Away With The Faeries 2016

We had another amazing weekend away with the faeries!

This was our 4th year and we know for sure we will be back again next year 😀

This year was lovely, I usually take loads of photos. This year I did take hundreds but I found I got caught up with having fun being a mer-fae and chatting to friends that I have made over the years

It Is lovely to have a meet up with everyone and meet new people who are coming for the time, after a year or so of going I found that I started seeing the same faces and recognising people, as the years have gone on some of those people have become good friends for us and the children. You do find yourself wondering were some of the people who have been over the years are if you dont see them.

We love seeing the stallholders and food vendors, who come year after year it is always lovely to see them and recognise each other, I am amazed that some of the regular entertainers recognise the children, not just mine others too, it makes it extra special for them, you can see their faces light up with happiness that they have been remembered!

Now we are home and washed some of the faerydust away, I find myself reflecting on it and really being happy that we have a place we can go and relax and just be who we want to be!

I am of course exhausted, I have my wheelchair with me, for me just attending is tiring, BUT I wouldn’t change that for anything, I danced a little and hurt a lot after, major leg, back and hip cramps now, and it may set me back a little…I would do it all again, and I will next year! (if i can) I selected who I would dance to carefully so I didn’t use up all my spoons! (energy) and this year I had the amazing help of my smart crutches! this was great it meant I could stand and have support and dance a little, not really moving me feet or jumping about but still feeling more free to dance with less pain! I really do recommend them.

I have a few photos to share, not as many of costumes as I would have liked as I was just soooo relaxed and happy and in the moment of being with friends and care free, I just didn’t feel the need to keep snapping away, I will share most of these soon, but for now I need a lot of rest and recovery before I share our memories Karen Kay has given us with 3 wishes faery festival!

here are a few just for now

Colourful May Knit – Pictures So Far!

I have been sharing my colourful knit I was working on during may, this is my own pattern though there are lots of similar ones out there.

I have nearly finished this it needs blocking then is ready to go, I love this because it is easy to get on and off, with my EDS I often struggle to get cardigans on, but this is easier with the low mobility I have.

I will defiantly be making more of these, I loved making it and while knitting I was thinking of the different colour combinations I would use, I would love to knit these for people as I enjoyed it so much!

I think i will call them ‘Festival Waistcoats’ or something similar.

This one will be for 3 wishes faery fest in a few weeks

Cheshire Cat Outfit

As you may know by now every year we go to 3 wishes faery festival to celebrate summer solstice, last year I made Peregrine a Cheshire cat outfit apart from the ears all items were worked in the round with a different amount of stitches.

I used some lovely fluffy yarn (stylecraft eskimo)

I made a tail

My Colourful Mystery Knit

We’ve had a busy week and weekend so not much knitting stitched here,

I have managed more on my colourful knit, I am liking the variegated yarn a lot

A Colourful May Update

Well I know I have got lots of projects to be getting on with at the moment but I really couldn’t resist starting a few more, and something for myself

I made these lovely hand warmers, I have a few of these so if anyone is interested in buying a pair just drop me an e-mail!

And I made this 20cm x 20cm baby snuggly too that is up for grabs, I can do these in most colours if anyone is interested, I am thinking bright ones would be nice?

Now I am first to admit my crochet skills are not the best but I am enjoying this blanket, this also doesn’t have a home yet, I am quite a bit further along than the picture but I haven’t finished it…..

Faery Bubbles!

One thing we all love is bubbles right!? My two kids (and us big kids) most certainly do!

Faery’s make the most epic bubbles you will ever see!

Firstly though I would like to say a massive thank you to Jane (and the lovely pirate at her side!) one morning we got up and dressed the children so they could have a run about around the tent while we got ready and sorted things for the day…after a good layer of sun cream we let them out with the faery’s to play in the morning sun….A tent or two away was Jane, a lovely faery with Bubbles! she kept my two pixies amused playing with bubbles while we got ourselves ready!

Jane I really can’t THANK YOU enough, it was such a help!

Back With Human Kind!

It has taken a few days and we have been feeling rather ‘festival drunk’ and had ‘festival fever’ it is so unbelievable how chilled out we have been since coming home from 3 wishes faery fest, I feel so much more centered and balanced, it was just what we needed, for all of us!

my hubby has been so over worked with caring for all of us and working enough to keep a roof over our heads, we can’t complain we have all we need, but getting away from the city and the every day ‘human’ life was just the thing to bring us all back together and remind us of just why (and how) life should be enjoyed! I guess we didn’t really realize how much we needed a break until we were away with the faeries and they worked there magic!

Now we are back with human kind we are adjusting, but will never fully get used to it 😀

I thought some photos showing the amazing atmosphere of the festival would be just what everyone would like to see! these picture show how relaxing the festival is 😀

There will be more pictures of the people who make the atmosphere so special ones were everywhere you look there is a burst of colour, and some lovely mermaids, faery’s, pirates elves….and so much more!

I really could just go on about the festival for months!
