wonder to Mount Edgcumbe

This week we had clan (family) come and we took them to some of our favourite places, and that wasn’t even the start of it! We have so many local woods, moorland and more that we could have ventured out to

As you may know already we go to 3 wishes faery fest every year and it is help very local to us, so when the faerys are not strolling amongst us we still pop over to faery land and have a wonder to Mount Edgcumbe

my two spent some of the day being mounting goats

busy start to summer

we have a super busy tribe for the last few weeks, as I have mentioned in previous posts about bike riding, Pretzel boy had an amazing trip away on a trip that was about sustainable transport, so he took the train, bike, sail boat, all sorts, this is great for him as he loves this topic, and it is why we have an electric car! Keeping our planet clean is important to us!
our son has now started sailing so once a week he is off on a sail boat,

we have been enjoying all the fun things that are near where we live, I have talked before about how you can enjoy summer from your doorstep, you really don’t have to go far from home to have fun in the sun, sure it is nice to get away, but one day it dawned on us that there are so many amazing places near us and we never take advantage of them, so we vowed to start, ever since then we have been out and explored them! Walking in woods and moorland and visiting beaches and gardens and realising how amazing our planet is! Mother nature is wonderful and seeing her seasons turn all around us is magical!

Lost My Bloging Mojo

I have somewhat lost my knitting mojo, at the moment I am not sure what to blog about, I have not had a great month with health and family things, along with the usual EDS and the allergic reaction I had the other day. I have also had swollen gland doctor thinks it is an infection somewhere but my body it doing the right thing so just waiting it out for now.

All this time I have been knitting my colourful knit, I am loving it, although I do wish I did not have quite so many ends, seems to be a lot to tie in, I am about 75% through on this one, really happy with the colours but I am still not quite sure about it, I think it is one of those items that you are not sure about till the end!

Having said that I must be fairly happy with it as I am already thinking of making another one! Hopefully someone will want one…

The yarn I am using is really nice to knit with, it is a cotton and bamboo mix, I think I will have to track down more yarns with bamboo as it is really smooth and lovely to knit with. It’s really warm and almost comforting to knit, I think that it is giving me a happy feeling on dull days with thoughts of what is to come during the warmer months and on bright days it really is making me think of fun sunny bright days, the knit itself rather looks like the colours you may see on a lovely sunny summers day, on a day trip, I am looking forward to more days out 😀

I have found myself thinking about other knits I could make but have not noted them down yet, never a good idea as I forget till it is too late and have run out of time…. wander what will be next!

Our Summer From Our Doorstep

The summer holidays have started and wow is it hot! for us the holidays started on Monday (or is that Friday!?) and we have been trying to make the most of it with a good fun- work balance! we have just waved good by to some friends and congratulating ourselves on getting trough the first week!

Our aim this summer is to make good use of all the amazing things that are right on our doorstep we live in beautiful Devon and we are right on the boarder to cornwall!

You remember a few weeks back we had those teacher strikes!? well we made the most of that with a lovely day out to Cornwall, my son goes to a school where they have 3 classes to the year and his class was the only one out of the 3 in his year to have the day off…again! I cant complain we had a great day at Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park!

it was great for me as the disabled access was good and we had very few problems with the wheelchair, to get ho the house there are a few options, there are foot boats from Plymouth or if you choose to drive you can go over the Tamar bridge (a brunell bridge) or take the tor point ferry, I am sure that there would be buses if you chose the bus or the train!

Disabled parking parking was also good we parked down near the foot ferry but you can also park right next to the house itself if you have a blue badge

The day was great we left when we were tired, and it was quite late, finished off with an ice cream of coarse!

We had a lovely look around the gardens

day out cornwall

and a look out to see, Drakes island!

There were so many lovely gardens tucked away, we didn’t even scratch the surface! we will be taking another visit to discover the bits we missed!

We had a great  day and a taste of just what is on our doorstep, that is when we realised that we will make the most of it this summer holidays!

We have realised just how much we take for granted, and how many amazing places are tucked away around us, and although we will be visiting family at the end of the summer we are looking forward to our staycation!

This is also the grounds were the 3 Wishes Faery Fest it held! here are my blogs of our faery fun..
